The True Purpose of Meditation

Between 900 and 500 B.C. some brilliant Indian intellectuals (MaNishinah) developed the technique of Meditation (Dhyana) to tame the unbridled minds of the upper classes of society consisting of Brahmins and Kshatriyas.

These two groups of people became obsessed with gaining power, fame, fortune and heaven by means of desire-driven Yajnas known as Kamya Karma. In these corrupt Yajnas, they sacrificed a large number of animals including cows, to satisfy their thirst for sense objects.

Decay of a noble Dharma: Due to their endless passion for these sense objects, Brahmanism decayed. The society was thrown into a great deal of turmoil. Several anti-Brahmanic religions arose.

Dwandwam: These intellectuals of the society theorized that when one’s mind becomes attached to sense objects such as power, fame, fortune and heaven, it becomes restless, and it loses its peace of mind. They called this restlessness of the mind ‘Dwandwam.’

Dwandwam consists of one’s mind liking something one moment and not liking it the next; wanting something one moment and not wanting it the next; and feeling good about something and not feeling good about it the next.

Loss of Wisdom: These intellectuals declared that Dwandwam arising from one’s attachment to sense objects results in the mind becoming disconnected from its inner wisdom (memory, knowledge, reasoning, judgment, insight, morals and virtues). Thus, deprived of the benefits of one’s wisdom, one indulges in self-destructive and antisocial activities.

Yoga: Their remedy for Dwandwam was for these upper classes to “withdraw their senses” from sense objects, that is, gradually reduce their desire for, attachment to, and possessiveness of them. This technique they called Yoga. Yoga, as recommended by them simply meant, “Train yourself to detach your mind from these perishable sense objects.”

The Buddha: They said that the mind (Manas) of one who is able to withdraw one’s senses (Indriya) merges with one’s intellect (Buddhi) and becomes Buddhiyukta (steady). Thus Dwandwam disappears. Now one develops Equanimity, Equilibrium and Evenness of mind). Such a person becomes the Buddha. The Buddha is a person whose mind works on the software of Buddhi (Intellect).

The Buddhu: Money, power, women, etc. delude the mind of one who is unable to practice Yoga, and such a one becomes the Buddhu (MooDha). It was to train these MooDhas, who were unable to control their desires, attachment and possessiveness, that the intellectuals developed the technique of Meditation (Dhyana).

The Bhagavad Gita (BG) 6:33-34: Arjuna: This Yoga of Equanimity, taught by you, O Madhusudana- I do not see any continued steadiness of mind due to restlessness. The mind verily is, O Krishna, restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate. I deem it as hard to control as the wind.

Dhyana: To such a person Lord Krishna recommended Dhyana (Meditation) as the first step:

BG: 6:35-36: Doubtless, O mighty armed, the mind is restless and hard to control. But by practice and non-attachment, O son of Kunti, it can be controlled. Yoga is hard to attain, I concede, by a man who cannot control himself; but it can be attained by him who has controlled himself, and who strives by right means (Dhyana, Meditation).

Meditation is the first step: So, Meditation is only the first step in developing control over one’s mind by shutting out sensory stimulations –visual, auditory, tactile, taste and smell. The meditating person sits motionless in a quiet place to avoid distractions, and focuses his mind inwardly.

However, Meditation is NOT an end in itself.

Change of lifestyle is needed: A person who practices meditation with the desire to prolong his life or regenerate brain cells is merely fooling himself and others. One must change his thinking and lifestyle as well. He should reduce his desire for, attachment to and possessiveness of all the sense objects: people, power, position, title, fame, money, gold, land, heaven, etc. His conduct in his business dealings should be above reproach. In his dealings with others, his allegiance should be to Truth alone, and not to anyone or anything.

Meditation as a tool to gain something: Unfortunately, today, most people who practice meditation do so for reasons other than to attain wisdom (Buddhi). Some go to meditation classes to meet people of opposite sex. Many women meditate wearing revealing dresses to attract men. Many executives of large organizations practice meditation on daily basis so they could concentrate better in making money. In their dealing with their clients, they indulge in every kind of chicanery. Others indulge in all kinds of antisocial activities immediately after the meditation session is over.

Absolute Buddhus of India: Even people such as “Maharishi” Mahesh Yogi, who promoted the so-called Transcendental Meditation, and “Maharishi” Rajneesh, not to mention “the great” Sai Baba, amassed great wealth and indulged in sexual misconduct with those who trusted them implicitly. The fact is today it is extremely hard to find a single Swami or Guru in India who is not an absolute Buddhu.

Mind Suckers

Mind Suckers

The November 2014 issue of National Geographic magazine’s front cover is titled “Real Zombies.” The lead article is titled, “MIND SUCKERS” subtitled, “Meet Nature’s Nightmare.”

This wonderful article goes on to present several examples of how some parasites enter into the bodies of host insects and actually change their behavior in order to perpetuate their own existence. The change in behavior could range from being a zombie to committing suicide.

Here are two of many examples of Mind Sucking resulting in dramatic change of behavior of the host insect.

Example One: The article shows the photograph of an enslaved ladybug embracing and protecting the cocoon of the larva of a parasitic wasp, which is actually feeding on it from inside. The article starts with the statement, “It is as astonishing as it is sad to watch a ladybug turn into a zombie.”

Example Two: The larva of horsehair worm infects a cricket and grows inside its body. When it is ready to hatch, it alters cricket’s brain and forces it to commit suicide by jumping into water. Why? Well, as the cricket drowns in the water, the adult worm emerges. Water is horsehair worm’s natural abode.

Those of you who know human nature should notice similar alteration of behavior of “normal people” in response to Mind Sucking human parasites such as crooked politicians, corrupt bureaucrats, illusionist Babas, false Swamis, hypocritical Gurus, hateful Mullahs and devious Padres. The change in behavior of their followers could range from becoming zombies to becoming suicide bombers.

It is amazing how some people support and protect corrupt parasites like the ladybug does the parasitic larva of the wasp; and commit suicide in order to perpetuate political career of their parasitic leaders, like the cricket does to perpetuate the life cycle of the horsehair worm.

The truth: Some people live like insects and die like insects.

C&C Disease

Deadly Ebola is in the news. Here is another deadly disease, which is spreading very fast across the globe: C&C Disease.

Clueless: Governments all over the world have no clue about this disease. It is spreading very fast from China in the East to the United States in the West. It has already affected millions of people in India.

What is it? C&C Disease is a chronic disease with high morbidity (disabling effects) and mortality (deaths). It is highly contagious. No one is immune to it. No identifiable virus or bacteria have been identified as the cause.

Transmission: It is transmitted orally, visually and with a handshake. Symptoms might appear within minutes or gradually over 7 days.

Treatment: Victims are resistant to any treatment. In fact, there is no known treatment. Recognition of symptoms and preventing it from getting worse is the best approach.  .

A curious phenomenon: A curious phenomenon is that victims often deny they have this disease. When someone tries to help the victim of this disease, he/she rebuffs him/her with four words, “YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!” These four words are diagnostic of this disease.

Symptoms: Any combination of symptoms listed below can appear in the victim.

Physical symptoms: Headache attacks, aches and pains all over the body, chest pain, stomach pain, sweating, sleeplessness, excessive sleeping, tiredness, heartburn, difficulty breathing, heavy sighing, palpitation of heart, trembling of hands, unsteady gait, loss of appetite, diarrhea bouts, frequent urination, hot and cold waves all over the body, bouts of dizziness, blurred vision.
Mental symptoms: Poor concentration, worrying, inability to follow conversation, mind racing, obsession, grandiose and paranoid ideas (suspiciousness).
Emotional: Depression, hopelessness, elation, anxiety, panic attacks, mood swings during which one is excessively elated or depressed, suicidal and homicidal ideas.
Behavioral symptoms: Irritability, hostility, pacing the floor, wringing of hands, excessive talking or not talking at all, talking the same subject over and over again, talking big, going on buying sprees, alcohol and drug abuse, buying big cars, big house, showing off one’s wealth, grand weddings for children, deceiving people and insurance companies, going into heavy debt, and finally filing for bankruptcy.

Medical wild goose chase: Often victims visit various specialists –neurologists, gastroenterologists, E.N.T. specialist, etc.- to discover the cause of the above dreadful symptoms. All tests usually come back negative except perhaps diabetes in some cases.

Misdiagnosis is common: Often these people are referred to psychiatrists for treatment. Ignorant of the C&C Disease, psychiatrists often misdiagnose victims of this disease as suffering from Manic-Depressive Illness a. k. a Bipolar Disorder. Sometimes Psychiatrists prescribe strong and dangerous drugs to control the symptoms. Addiction to sleeping pills, anti-anxiety and narcotic pain pills is common. This complicates the problem of abuse of alcohol and street drugs.

Prognosis: Hopeless.

What is C&C Disease? Well, you guessed it: Comparing and Competing Disease. A large number of Indians in America are victims of this disease.

Mr. Tharoor, a pig cannot complain that the cesspool smells really bad. What are you doing in Congress Party? Is your party not responsible for looting the country for most of the years after independence? Quit politics and start a nonviolent movement to fight corruption. You cannot eliminate cesspool unless you first get out of it. This is the time you get  out.

It is a fallacy that one could change India by joining politics. India is a kleptocracy, a country run by political and bureaucratic thieves. If one joins a gang of thieves, one becomes a thief. With great effort one could change the system, but one could not change its culture. Gorbachov changed Communist system in Russia, but he could not change the culture of corruption associated with that system.

The culture of corruption could be eliminated only by nonpolitical citizens united for that cause. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. Those who are willing to give up a little bit of liberty for a little bit of security deserve neither liberty nor security.

Good luck to you Mr. Tharoor! Hope you will come out of the cesspool and become a clean pig.

Is India a Kleptocracy?

Modi calls NCP “Naturally Corrupt Party”:

http://www.ndtv.com/elections/article/assembly-polls/ncp-is-naturally-corrupt-party-says-pm-sharad-pawar-hits-back-605700?pfrom=home-topstories

Mr. Modi is 100% correct. However, his own BJP is as corrupt as NCP, Congress (I), SP and every goddamn political party in India.

It is about time Mr. Modi asks himself whether INDIA IS A TRUE DEMOCRACY OR KLEPTOCRACY (Rule by Thieves).

What is Kleptocracy?[1]

Kleptocracy is a form of government, which exists to increase the personal wealth and political power of the ruling class (politicians and bureaucrats) at the expense of the wider population, often with pretense of honest service.

[Bofors scam, 2G scam, Coal-Gate scam, Fodder Scam, Agusta-Westland Chopper scam, Amma scam, Yeddiyurappa scam, Reddy brothers iron ore scam, Adarsh housing Society scam, Syndicate Bank bribery, etc. are but a few of hundreds of scams by means of which rulers have looted the country.]

Rule by Thieves: It is simply, Rule by Thieves, and theft of national wealth as the basis of a society. The term is a pejorative for governments perceived to have a particularly severe and systemic problem with the selfish misappropriation of public funds by those in power. This type of government is generally considered corrupt, and the mechanism of action is often embezzlement of state funds.

National wealth as personal bank account: Kleptocratic politicians typically treat their country's treasury as though it were their own personal bank account, spending the funds on luxury goods as they see fit. Many kleptocratic rulers also secretly transfer public funds into secret personal numbered bank accounts in foreign countries in order to provide themselves with continued luxury if/when they are eventually removed from power and forced to leave the country.
In Kleptocracy, bureaucrats in every single government office all over the country extort bribes from citizens to provide even simple services. They abuse their discretionary powers to enrich themselves.

In Kleptocracy, the Police all over the country routinely arrest people, and extort bribes for their release. They indulge in torture and murder without fear. 100% of people don’t trust them and are afraid of them. Instead of serving and protecting the public, the police misuse their authority to enrich themselves.

Effect of Kleptocracy: The effects of a kleptocratic regime or government on a nation are typically adverse in regards to the faring of the state's economy, political affairs and civil rights. Kleptocracy in government often vitiates prospects of foreign investment and drastically weakens the domestic market and cross-border trade. As the kleptocracy normally embezzles money from its citizens by misusing funds derived from tax payments or money laundering schemes, a kleptocratically structured political system tends to degrade nearly everyone's quality of life.

In addition, the money that kleptocrats steal is often taken from funds that were earmarked for public amenities, such as the building of hospitals, schools, roads, parks and the like – which has further adverse effects on the quality of life of the citizens living under a kleptocracy. The quasi-oligarchy that results from a kleptocratic elite also subverts democracy (or any other political format the state is ostensibly under).

Now you decide if India is a true democracy or kleptocracy.
